Pet Surgery

Surgeries at Animal Medical Corpus Christi are currently performed on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. We ask that patients coming in for surgery have no food after Midnight and have the water removed in the morning. Patients may be dropped off from 7:30 AM until 8:30 AM for their surgery, all surgeries start promptly at 9 AM. Please note: We recommend a pre-anesthetic blood panel for all surgeries and require it for those over the age of 7 years.

Surgery Requirements

We offer Surgical Laser Procedures. Depending on the type of surgery, half the cost of surgery may be required prior to surgery.

  • Anesthesia/Surgical Consent form must be signed electronically
  • Patients are required to be completely vaccinated for elective surgery

Canine

  • Rabies Vaccine
  • Distemper/Parvo/Adenovirus Vaccine
  • Bordetella Vaccine

Feline

  • Rabies Vaccine
  • Feline DRC Vaccine
  • Feline Leukemia Vaccine

Surgeries Offered

Ovariohysterectomy/Spay & Castration/Neuter

  • Out-Patient Surgery
  • Pain Medication sent home post-surgery
  • Elizabethan Collar is offered if the patient might lick or chew the incision area
  • An antibiotic injection is given during the procedure
  • Pain Relief Injection is given during the procedure
  • Nails Trimmed during the procedure

Growth Removals
An estimate can be worked up for individual patients; this procedures’ cost is dependent on how large and how many growths are being removed

  • Out-Patient Surgery
  • An antibiotic injection is given during the procedure
  • Pain Relief injection is given during the procedure
  • Elizabethan Collar offered if growths are in an area the patient can reach to lick or chew

Cherry Eye Removal
Cost is dependent on the amount of time spent in surgery

  • Out-Patient Surgery
  • An antibiotic injection is given during the procedure
  • Pain Relief injection is given during the procedure
  • Elizabethan Collar sent home post-surgery
  • Pain Medication sent home post-surgery
